What Collaborator Is
StoryCAD helps you build a fiction outline from story elements: overview, problems, characters, settings, and scenes. You fill tabs and fields until the story is clear enough to draft.
StoryCAD Collaborator is an additional paid feature that runs focused workflows on that outline. It reads the pieces it needs, suggests wording for named fields (for example Premise, Goal, or Flaw), and waits for you to accept or reject each suggestion. The outline stays yours.
What it is good for
Collaborator is strongest in the same stages StoryCAD is built for:
- Turning a rough idea into a workable premise
- Defining the story problem and opposing forces
- Deepening goal, motivation, and conflict
- Exploring inner vs outer problems
- Choosing structure and shape
- Filling out characters and scenes one workflow at a time
If you teach writing, think of each run as a short exercise: one craft question, applied to this student’s outline.
What it is not
- It is not a full novel generator. It does not write your chapters for you.
- It is not a substitute for craft study. Books, classes, and StoryBuilder’s resources and learn material still matter.
- It does not silently overwrite your outline. Suggestions stay pending until you accept them.
When to type yourself, when to open Collaborator
Type yourself when you already know what you want in a field, or when you are brainstorming free-form notes.
Open Collaborator when you are stuck on a craft problem, when you want a structured pass over empty fields, or when you want a second take on wording you can still refuse.
